International Cultural Landscape, Architectural Heritage and Conservation Science Workshop in Japan: Daily Life in Historic Urban Landscape

Hosted by University of Tsukuba (Japan) in collaboration with Kasetsart University.

We are pleased to invite applications for the 2025 International Cultural Landscape, Architectural Heritage and Conservation Science Workshop in Japan, co-organized by the University of Tsukuba and Kasetsart University. This 9-day immersive program offers hands-on learning through field surveys, conservation site visits, and academic exchange in Tsukuba and Tokyo, focusing on the sub-theme Urban Daily Life in Historic Urban Landscape.

Application Deadline: July 27, 2025
Program Dates: September 1–9, 2025 (9 days)
Location: Tsukuba, Tokyo, and surrounding areas / Japan
Eligibility: Open to students from all departments and all programs at Kasetsart University
Number of Participants: 7–10
Scholarship Support: Airfare, and accommodation support will be provided by Faculty of Architecture, Kasetsart University and KUSCI (Note: Meals and local transportation during the program are the responsibility of each participant.)

Participation Fee: 6,000 THB

Selection Criteria:
Priority will be given to students who have not previously joined international programs in order to expand participation opportunities. Applicants with English proficiency at B2 CEFR level or equivalent will then be considered, along with those who demonstrate strong academic performance based on GPA. Selected participants will be invited for an interview.

Tentative Program Schedule:
Day 1 (Sept 1): Travel from Don Mueang to Narita, transfer to Tsukuba
Day 2 (Sept 2): Workshop lectures, Conservation Science lab visits, walking tour of Tsukuba
Day 3 (Sept 3): Field visit to Yanaka-tei and Tsukuba-san
Day 4 (Sept 4): Travel to Tokyo, start site survey and group work
Day 5 (Sept 5): Site measurement and conservation study
Day 6 (Sept 6): Final presentations and workshop conclusion
Day 7–8 (Sept 7–8): Self-guided architectural heritage tours in Tokyo
Day 9 (Sept 9): Return to Bangkok

5. Transcript and GPA
6. Copy of passport
